Product

Depending on payload, configuration, and operating conditions, the H 40 Hybrid Drone is designed for ranges of 2,000 to 6,000km and endurance of 16 to 49 hours, and is engineered for low operating costs.

The H 40 Hybrid Drone is intended for a broad range of applications — from border control and disaster management to surveying, logistics, and demanding tactical missions.

Our current focus is on developing the H 40 Hybrid Drone. The underlying Hoffmann H 40 aircraft type holds EASA type certificate EASA.A.541, based on FAR Part 23. The design first flew in the late 1980s and received its type certificate from the German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) in 1992. Development of our H 40 Hybrid Drone builds on this real, flown, and certified airframe.

In the longer term, the type-certified base aircraft may also be offered as an ab-initio trainer.

 

Innovation

Our engineering integrates electric motors and combustion engines with state-of-the-art carbon-composite structures, engineered for lean production and operational efficiency.

The hybrid propulsion system combines long range and extended endurance with low-noise mission phases and high operational flexibility.

The H 40 Hybrid Drone is in prototype development, built on the EASA type-certified Hoffmann H 40 aircraft type (EASA.A.541) — with existing production know-how, existing production moulds, and a structured certification path for the drone-specific configuration. The drone-specific configuration has been refined over several years.

In the intended propulsion concept, batteries are charged in flight via a kerosene range extender. At a later development stage, the use of hydrogen fuel cells may also be introduced.

 

Sensors and Data Link

The H 40 Hybrid Drone is designed to integrate state-of-the-art multi-sensor camera systems — thermal, daylight, low-light, and infrared technology at the current state of the art, complemented by AI-based image analysis where required. Its modular architecture means the H 40 Hybrid Drone is not tied to a single supplier and can be configured with leading sensor and software partners as needed.

Data transmission is planned via secure satellite and line-of-sight links. The system is designed for encryption and interference resilience in line with current industry standards, and can be complemented by a MALE relay drone to extend range where needed.

 

Production

The modular composite design is engineered for low assembly effort, efficient maintenance, and local production capability. The core airframe remains common across configurations, while mission-specific systems and specifications are added as required.
